wares, Goods classified as contraband by the Nigerian government & used products like automobiles and gadgets.
If you wish to successfully export products to Nigeria, your business or manufacturing company has to meet the SONCAP standards otherwise these products will be flagged for violation.

SONCAP Certification Process:

To get a SONCAP certificate, certain process or processors are required.
To obtain the SONCAP rights; exporters need to obtain product certificate from a SONCAP accredited certification institution. This product certificate (PC) is required for the opening of Form M.
Form M is a document needed to pre-declare the goods being imported and exported to Nigeria.
With this form, one is able to raise PAAR for the clearance of goods from any Nigerian port.
The fees required for certification are listed in exporter guidelines; it ensures smooth processing.

SONCAP came into effect in September 2005, since then, it has become mandatory for all the products especially those within the scope listed earlier. The required certification can be acquired from accredited offices, we offer the SONCAP Certificate because we are accredited, versed and knowledge to do so.

If SONCAP is not complied with; your goods will be rejected at the port and refused release.

The exporter will still be asked to bear all expenses related to this activity due to the violation of the SONCAP process.

Now let’s move down to SONCAP routes:

SONCAP Routes: There are three routes to SONCAP compliance (certification). These routes include:

Route A: This is for unregistered, uncleared products, resulting in the issue of product certificate 1.
Route B: Is for registered products, resulting in the issue of product certificate 2.
Route C: Comprise of licensed products; it results in the issue of product certificate 3.

Once you acquire either PC 1, 2 and 3, your exports can successfully receive the SONCAP endorsement (certificate).

At this point, you can now export your products into Nigeria and also remember that the certificate can be revoked if you violate the rules.

Working with an accredited institution ensures proper processing, route, and certification.
